For Peetey’s Sake Dog and Cat Rescue, Inc. is an all volunteer organization that places stray, abandoned and shelter pets into permanent loving homes. We do not care what the breed is, how old they are, what their size is, or what kind of medical care they need.  In reality, many of our rescued pets do require extensive medical care, some are elderly, and some are very big dogs – all factors that could mean death in many traditional shelter venues.  We do not operate a central shelter location, but rely on a network of dedicated and loving fosters who welcome these pets into their homes. Some of our pets are rescued from the streets by caring people who are unwilling to take them to a shelter; we offer support and assistance to these individuals who are willing to step up themselves to save the lives of homeless pets.  Most of our pets are just grateful to have someone that finally cares about them and are ready to be adopted. Some need to build trust with humans and learn – sometimes for the first time -   that humans can be kind. Our fosters dedicate themselves to the rehabilitation of these pets to allow their placement into loving homes and to have the happy ending they deserve.

Our group is named in honor of a sweet dog named Peetey, who became lost before he could find his forever home  Although a small army was searching for Peetey, they were unable to locate him before he was euthanized at the end of a three-day stray hold period.  Peetey’s death was a tragedy that touched many people and we honor him by trying to save those like him.  In an effort to prevent other pets from suffering Peetey’s fate, not only are all of our pets up to date on medical care, including all required vaccinations, but they also have a registered microchip; a registered microchip may be a pet’s only ticket home if they find themselves lost or in a shelter. We  showcase our dogs at the Fry Rd/ I-10 Petsmart every other Saturday between 12 and 4 pm.

Mulder

Mulder and Scully are two sweet snuggle bunkins rescued as orphans. They are so sweet and snuggly and very cute! They are purr monsters. They are currently 8 weeks old and are the cutest things you have ever seen! Update! Scully has been adopted!

Turbo is just full of personality! He is playful and very loving. Turbo was rescued from the Humble Pound which is a 100% kill facility.

Hi- I’m Energetic Emily. I love to run. You’d never know it, but I had a pretty rough start in life- I was running the streets as a puppy, picked up and taken to a shelter. While I was there, I developed kennel cough which turned into pneumonia. My foster Mom took me home for daily fluids and breathing treatments. After weeks of treatment, I was finally healthy enough to go back up for adoption. Then, I had surgery to remove a lump and had a gaping wound that took forever to heal (notice the scar on my back). I am fully recovered now and ready for my new home. I love people and other dogs, but I am very food and treat aggressive (think high Alpha Dog)- so it may be best if I am the only dog.
Nicolas is well..such a CAT! He has catitude plus!

Poor Baby was abandoned and left to fend for himself, he had to fight to survive and as a result got beaten up pretty bad, but now he is so handsome and lovey dovey! BUT you must pay attention to what he wants, that is all that matters to him! IF he was a female we would say he was DIVA! visit Nicolas at the Cinco Ranch Petsmart and I bet you will want to take him home!

Hi! I am Lucy

I am an 2 year old border collie mix who loves to play with most dogs, and kids, too. Cats, I just ignore. Since I am still young at heart, I have lots of energy and want a family that has some time to spend with me. Naps on the couch are just yummy, especially when a human is around to snuggle with. I had to have some surgery when I was younger, you can read about it on my web page!

Sugar is an Husky mix. She is 4 years old, 55lbs, housebroken, very playful and full of energy- but she can be happy sitting with you while you watch TV. Sugar needs to be an only dog- no exceptions. She is very smart- she knows sit, stay, down and roll-over- I think mostly to get her tummy rubbed. Sugar will make a wonderful addition to your family.

Nutmeg is a wonderful sweet little pittie girl. Her favorite things are giving kisses to everyone she meets, snuggling, laying on the couch or bed-wherever her person is! She is such a couch potato!
She loves long walks and chasing squirrels and of course dinnertime and treat time! Nutmeg has had beginning obedience lessons and know sit, stay, down and give me paw! She doesnt care that much for down but she knows it! She is currently in Guardian Ambassador Training to be an advocate for her breed. Nutmeg wants to be your only dog, she does not care for her foster sisters at all! If you are looking for a snuggle bunkin only girl, This is the one!
  Miyoshi

Miyoshi is an absolutely beautiful akita mix. Perfect akita markings and very friendly. She was so very hot so she decided to come into a nice air conditioned office building and then decided she did not want to leave. She was so pleasant and happy to be there. Miyoshi seems to like other dogs, and loves, loves people. If you are looking for a big boned girl to snuggle with, this is the one, she tops the scales right now at 77 pounds and she is skinny!

 Hi! My name is Chase!

My foster mom found me hanging out at a bank...thats how I got my name! I am a young pup, probably only 10 months to a year old and so lovable and sweet! I am ready to be the shining star in your life, so give us a call!

HI! I am Gretchen!  I am a Mastiff/Boxer Mix! What a combination!! I was rescued from the Humble Pound. I am a sweet girl and would prefer to be your one and only!
A big girl with lots of big love!

Hi! My name is Cole!

I am so entertaining and sweet! I am 9 weeks old.

Hombre was found in a storage shed all alone when he was only a few days old. He is what we call a bottle baby because his rescuer had to bottle feed him until he got old enough to eat kitten food! He is so sweet and lovable!

Espy!

Espy is a wiggle butt girl, first found with a very serious eye injury. As you can see it did not affect her beauty at all and the vet says she has vision in her eye!! If you are looking for sweetness and bunches of pibble kisses, this is the girl for you. When you talk to her she wiggles from her nose to the tip of her tail!! She is well mannered and very good!

This is Roman, a 14week old baby found alone in the woods, crying his heart out. We couldn't find his mom and siblings anywhere! He is just a babe and still has puppy breath!

 Suzy and Hayden

These cuties were rescued from BARC, they are the most precious love bugs you will ever meet! They love to snuggle and purr and make you feel like you are the greatest thing in the world. Hayden is a male and is cream colored, His sister Suzy looks black, but on closer inspection, you will see that she has some Tortie markings! Of course, the best thing...They are both Hemingway Cats! Yep, both are polydactyl.

Poor Jodi was dumped out in the country and she had just given birth. Even though we searched for two days, we could not find her puppies. She was starving and very weak. After a trip to vet, we discovered she had heartworms as well. As soon as she was strong enough, she got treatment and just look at the beauty she is becoming!

Hi- I'm KayCee and I am one lucky kitty. Not long ago, it was a different story. I had been someone's pet and then I was left behind to fend for myself. I took refuge under a barn, searching for anything to fill my tummy. It wasn't until I was skin and bones (less than 5lbs), when I decided to venture out from under the barn and look for
someone to feed me like before. A nice lady took care of me for a couple months, took me to the vet, got me all healthy (I was already spayed) and found this wonderful adoption group called For Peetey's Sake Dog and Cat Rescue, Inc.
I will never again be hungry or cold, and hopefully soon find a wonderful
permanent home. I am a little timid, but this is all new to me. I am a
sweet, beautiful girl with gorgeous green eyes. I am probably about 5
years old. I am okay with another laid back cat (no youngsters or
roughhousers please).

Buffy

This sweet baby got lost or was abandoned, she wasnt able to tell us which. A man brought her into the adoption site saying he found her and that he was not able to locate any owners. Poor girl had already been spayed and had an eye surgically removed! Looks like her owners would have turned over heaven and earth to find her, all of us would have...but not for this sweet girl.

She is currently undergoing treatment for heartworms, those owners that did not try to find her also did not put her on heartworm prevention. She was covered in mats aand had a raging skin infection.

She will be up for adoption when she is released by the veterinarian.

Her foster mom has named her Buffy.

 Venus

I am a great beauty and an awesome Mom as well. I dont have to worry about any more children though since I have been spayed. I was rescued from BARC in Houston with my two babies. My two babies were too young and tiny and I was very sad when they did not survive our time in that awful shelter place. My foster mom found me some babies to adopt and I took very good care of them! They are old enough now that they dont need me anymore so it is time to think of myself. I am a beautiful, snuggly creature and are ready for you to become my everything! See you soon!

Pandora

Poor Pandora started out as a little orphan, and a call went out for a mom to take care of her. Well she found a good one! The lovely Venus adopted me as one of her own and I am this gorgeous beauty now! No need to look any further, I am the kiteh for you!
Pandora

 Missy

Missy is such a sweetie! She was born outside to an unknown mother and had to be bottle fed when still young. We all know how sweet those bottle babies are! She is still young and busy!

See Missy's video on Petfinder.com

 Annie

Annie was turned in to a kill shelter with her two tiny babies. Scared and alone, trying to care for what was probably her first litter of kittens, since she herself was still so young, Annie did her best to be a good mother. It turned out Annie was a great mother as her foster discovered when she rescued her. Not only has Annie been a wonderful mother to her own babies, Crash and Nuke, but she helped mother little Marvin, who was all alone, along with a litter of five newborn kittens who had lost their mother. Annie is about 1 year old, is up to date on shots, and will be spayed before adoption. Annie is definitely a super girl, sweet and affectionate. After being such a SuperMom, Annie really deserves a new home and happy ending of her own. Annie is up-to-date with routine shots and house trained.

 Carlos

So the nasty people that had me, kept me tied up in front of the house. Well let me tell you, got tired of that junk and chewed my way to freedom and a decent foster home! I am a very sweet boy who operates on fast speed! If you are looking for a work companion, play companion or snuggle companion, I'm your guy!

Gracie

Gracie was found in a neighborhood all alone and hiding under a truck. She was no more than 4 or 5 weeks old when found. She is a great puppy with lots of puppy energy. Did I forget to mention how adorable she is?!

We think she is a hound dog!

Marco

Heyyyy there! My name is Marco, I'm a beautiful pitbull and border collie mix. I have a great personality, and I'm just a cool dog in general. I'm very loving and low key, I'm not hyper like some other dogs, and I'm very smart and extremely loyal. My foster Ma, thinks I'm the bomb and I'm just grateful to be off of 610, it was pretty nerve wracking out there. I haven't been around too many cats, but I think I like them, I only barked when one ate from my food bowl, and I'm pretty relaxed around other dogs. Overall I'm an exceptional pup. Hugs & Licks, Marco

Sammy is about 1 yr old- Rat Terrier Mix who was rescued from a kill shelter Sammy weighs about 12lbs. Waylon!

Waylon is a sweet, sweet senior Aussie resqued from Ft. Worth Animal control. No one could ask for a better boy than this "Good Ole Boy"!

Callie

I found Callie in the parking lot at West Houston Medical Center. She was very thin, full of heartworms and something had punctured her ear. She is housebroken, knows sit and is very well behaved around children. She is not aggressive toward cats anymore, but I wouldn’t leave her alone with one. She’s getting better with dogs, but still only likes one at my house.

Toby

Toby is a young, (10mos - 1 year), very active Welsh Corgi mix.  He is very playful and loves everybody- dogs, cats
and kids.  He plays very rough and would be best with a dog that is a little bigger than him.  He currently weighs 18lbs
and we think he is full grown.  He was just recently neutered, so we are working on the housebreaking- but he is
crate trained.  Toby has a cute little personality and is such a happy boy.

Dr. Phil

When you think to yourself that you ought to get a dog, Doc is the dog who fits all those great qualities that come to mind!  Handsome, sweet, thrilled to be with people, good with other dogs, great as a car-riding buddy….an all-around fun dog.  Doc was found around Angleton, Texas, lost and looking for someone great to give him a big hug and take him home!  He is only about two years old, healthy, neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped and vaccinated.  Doc has charmed every person who has met him, and he’s betting he’ll charm you too!  Call us to meet this handsome guy!
Dr. Phil is looking for a foster home until he finds his forever home!

Reggie

Hi, my name is Reggie.   I’m a healthy, neutered male puppy.  I’m around 10-11 months old and was abandoned when I was three months old.

I’m neutered and up to date on my shots.  I’m heartworm negative and on preventative.  I weigh in at 30 – 35lbs.  I’m full of energy and ready to play.  I love other animals; they just can’t keep up with all my energy!  I am crate trained and live indoors.  I have been trying to work on my commands, however, ‘sit’ is the one I’ve mastered the best!

Reggie is also looking for a foster home til his forever home is found!
